1. Daniel¹ Carrel was born Abt. 1710. He married Margaret Young.

Notes for Daniel Carrel:

Daniel Carrel of Norman decent, retaining the original French spelling, came from Ireland in the year 1730. Settled first in Virginia. In 1732 he took up land in Dover Tp. Morris Co. NJ. This land was still in 1903 in possession of his descendants. They were members of the sect called Friends or Quakers. A meating house built by the Society of which he was a member in 1758 is still in a good state of preservation and in a stone walled enclosure containing the Burying Ground in which Daniel and Margaret Young and several of their family were burriel.

2. Thomas² Carrel (Daniel¹) was born Abt. 1733. He married Elizabeth Richey.

Thomas Carrel married Elizabeth Richey (or Ritchy) moved into Pennsylvania then to Willoughby, OH, where he died.

Notes for Thomas Carrel Jr.:

Thomas Carrel Jr. married a cousin, Hannah Kerr, moved to a farm between Mentor and Willoughby, OH , known in 1904 as the Durbin farm on the old plank road and on the Reynolds road. This land was taken up about 1806 and they lived there intil about 1859.

16. William Parkerson⁴ Carrel (Thomas Carrel³ Jr., Thomas² Carrel, Daniel¹) was born May 08, 1825 in Mentor, Ohio, and died February 28, 1885 in Oak Grove Cem., Hillsdale, Mich.. He married Elizabeth Waite March 22, 1848.

Notes for William Parkerson Carrel:

William P. Carrel was a Cooper by trade. But followed farming and school teaching and served for several years as Justice of Peace in Ohio and Michigan. He went Rayaltow (Sp.), OH in 1847 and went to farming. In 1859 he moved to N. Reading, Mich. to farm In 1864 moved to Hillsdale. Later lived on farms in N. Reading and Ritchfield. At time of death he was Steward of Hillsdale College. He was a Campbellite until moving to Mich., where he joined the Free Will Baptist denomination. He was also a member of the Masonic Fraternity. A man held in high respect.
